Agenda

1. Welcome

  1. To receive apologies and Declarations of Interest. There were no apologies. B.Baker declared an interest in item 6.1
  2. Chairman’s business. (any urgent business that has arisen) The meeting closed for a Public Forum. There is great concern by the parishioners on the ongoing development issues at Roman Court and this was voiced by spokesperson Mr. R.Knowles. The two minute speech was given away to an open discussion with district and county councillors also joining in. This discussion had to be closed. The meeting reopened.

2. To agree the minutes of the meeting held on January 27th 2025

The minutes were agreed and signed as a true record.

3. To receive written reports from County and District Councillors

  1. District. Councillor Barber Pride in place impact fund: There is an amount of money being awarded for playground equipment and some has been allotted to our village playgrounds. After speaking to Sue about what is needed in Leverington, I have put in a bid for the Foal ground top supply some toddler apparatus and also to repair/improve the safety matting which has seen better days. This may or may not be accepted as there are many playgrounds in our villages which will need money spent on them, but let’s hope we are awarded something. Roads/potholes: I have been assured that 40 pot holes on Sutton Road will be repaired next week, w/c 23rd February. Let’s hope that the Highways will deliver this. Of course that will not be all of the potholes there are but it is a start. It’s important that ALL of us report them and any other problems with roads or footpaths, even if someone already has. More people reporting them may mean that more notice is taken. Planning matters: It is very important to submit your views on planning matters that you think are correct or incorrect. You must do this on FDC’s planning portal for it to be taken notice of. If enough people take the trouble to do so this, the officers and planning committee will take that into consideration. Councillor Brenda Barber
  2. County Cambridgeshire County Council, Gadds Lane, Wisbech. (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic). Order 2026-20075 NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after seven days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Gadds Lane, Wisbech as lies between B1542 and B1169. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 20 April 2026 and continue until these works have finished or on the 19 October 2027 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 20 April to 1 May 2026.
